(Why some perfumes last longer than others)

How long a perfume stays on your skin depends on many real-life factors — not just the perfume itself. Here's what matters:

🔹 1. Skin Type

  • Oily skin holds fragrance better and longer.

  • Dry skin may cause perfumes to evaporate faster.
💡 Tip: Moisturize your skin before spraying to improve longevity.

🔹 2. Perfume Concentration

  • Extrait / Pure Perfume (25–40%) lasts longest (up to 10–12 hrs).

  • EDP (15–25%) lasts 6–8 hrs.

  • EDT (5–15%) lasts 3–5 hrs.

  • Cologne (2–5%) fades within 2–3 hrs.

🔹 3. Weather & Temperature

  • Heat & humidity make perfumes evaporate faster but also project more strongly.

  • Cold & dry weather slows down evaporation, but sillage (the scent trail) is weaker.

🔹 4. Indoor vs. Outdoor Use

  • Outdoor activity (wind, sun, movement) shortens longevity.

  • Indoor environments are more stable, so perfume stays longer.

🔹5. Application Method

  • Spraying on clothes (carefully!) can hold scent longer than skin.

  • Pulse points (neck, wrists, behind ears) warm up naturally and help release fragrance slowly.
